Before the Heymann Memorial Conservatory became the "little-used green house"
that Bruce Eggler referred to in his Oct. 24 article, it was one of the most
beautiful conservatories I have ever seen.
Not the biggest or most impressive, but a serene and lovely place to be, full
of lush tropical plants, a goldfish pond, and always an abundance of blooming
orchids.
I visited the conservatory frequently, as did many park goers. It did not
become "little used" until the Audubon Institute closed it. Why not spend a
small portion of the $6 million golf course budget to restore the conservatory?
